Background & analysis
On October 17, 2026, Pika announced on X that it had partnered with OpenAI to launch the Pika X ChatGPT plugin extension. According to the announcement, all of Pika's creative tools are now available directly inside ChatGPT's chat window and side panel, offering what the company describes as a new interactive creation experience. Pika framed the move around the idea that creative work needs a visual environment, and said the partnership was about putting that environment inside the chat interface itself.
In a second post published at roughly the same time, Pika described the ChatGPT plugin as another way of making AI work harder for creative work. The company thanked OpenAI for partnering on the vision behind the plugin, invited users to try it, and said more developments in this direction should be expected.
That is where the public information currently stands: the plugin has been announced, users are being invited to try it, and Pika says further progress is coming. The available material does not specify a launch date, availability, or detailed feature information.
