OpenAI in Early Talks for $30B Raise at $1.4T Valuation

OpenAI is in early talks to raise about $30 billion at a valuation of roughly $1.4 trillion, according to The Guardian. The company has told investors its annualized revenue reached about $50 billion at the end of September, below the nearly $70 billion figure circulating in the market, a gap it attributes to how cloud-partner revenue is counted. OpenAI still expects to hit or exceed $70 billion in annualized revenue by the end of 2026.

OpenAI Defends Firing of Three Safety Researchers, Denies Safety Concerns

OpenAI has defended its decision to fire three safety researchers, saying they committed a serious breach of trust and that the dismissals were unrelated to safety concerns or public advocacy. Jasmine Wang, Tomek Korbak and Mikita Balesni had denied the company's claims of mishandling sensitive information, saying they were only given verbal reasons and warning of a chilling effect inside OpenAI.

Google Gives Gemini Agents Their Own Work Accounts

At its Gemini at Work 2026 event, Google introduced a general-purpose Gemini agent for enterprises that can plan tasks, call tools, connect to business systems and deliver finished work. The latest reports say each "colleague agent" gets its own Workspace account, email, calendar and company directory entry, acting under its own identity with admin-approved, role-based permissions, and keeps running after a laptop is closed.

How is heat calculated?About the board

When several outlets cover the same story it counts as one event. Heat counts how many independent sources discussed it in the last 48 hours, each source counted once, decaying with a 24-hour half-life — so one outlet publishing ten posts does not inflate the ranking. It measures how active the discussion is, not how good the reporting is.

The board is refreshed once a day over a rolling 48-hour window. The trend line samples once an hour: with fewer than three samples nothing is drawn, and gaps break the line instead of counting as zero.

The up/down arrow compares with six hours ago, with natural decay removed: a story only counts as rising when new independent sources joined in the last six hours. Simply getting older does not read as a fall, and the surge badges only appear when new outlets actually pick the story up.

Every entry links back to the original, plus a tool page when we have one. Summaries come from public feeds and remain the property of the original authors; verify important facts at the source. If you believe a headline or summary infringes your rights, email the contact address in the footer with the page URL and basis of your claim, and we will remove or replace it after review.
