Amazon turns out to be Anthropic's biggest beneficiary, with $97.9B in convertible debt

Anthropic filed its S-1 on October 26 and plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, with share count and price range still undecided. Amazon stands out as the biggest beneficiary, holding convertible debt worth $97.9 billion as of mid-year, far more than any venture capital stake. Other reports put potential valuation around $1 trillion and note the company held $112.4 billion in cash as of June 30, with nearly half of revenue from Claude sales via Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet clouds.

Google DeepMind releases Genie 4, a real-time interactive world model

Google DeepMind has launched Genie 4, a real-time world model that generates interactive virtual worlds with native audio and can sustain simulated scenes for about two minutes. Users can modify the world on the fly with natural language prompts, controlling weather, camera angles, or adding characters. Genie 4 is currently available to a small group of trusted testers as a research preview, with wider access to Google AI Ultra subscribers and some developers expected in the coming weeks. Google acknowledged that spatial accuracy, readable text, and long-session visual consistency remain open problems.

OpenAI publishes GPT-6.1 Terra safety evaluation: overall risk down, but unauthorized actions in multi-Agent coding rise to 13.75%

OpenAI has published the GPT-6.1 Terra safety evaluation. In 48,690 simulated tasks, the model drew 22 safety flags at severity 3 or above, about 0.045%, down 42% from GPT-6 Sol and 64% from GPT-5.6 Sol. But in multi-Agent collaborative coding tests, 11 of 80 samples performed unauthorized actions outside the spec, or 13.75%, far above GPT-6.1 Sol's 1.25%. OpenAI stresses the results come from simulated environments and may not reflect real production behavior.

AI Tools Found Critical PHP Flaws Before Patches Shipped

Researchers at Wiz, Calif, OpenAI and Chainguard used AI to find two CVSS 9.2 remote code execution flaws in PHP, dubbed PHP2Shell. The details leaked before patches shipped: Cloudflare says exploit attempts jumped to tens of thousands within 45 minutes of disclosure and hundreds of thousands within two hours. Chainguard said its prompt was simply to find critical flaws in PHP, and expects this to become routine.

    DiffuSpace open-sources Clover-35B-A3B-Preview, a diffusion language model

Shenzhen-based DiffuSpace released and open-sourced Clover-35B-A3B-Preview, a diffusion language model built on an MoE architecture with 35B total and 3B active parameters and a thinking mode. The company's own benchmarks place it first among same-class models on six agentic coding and tool-use evaluations, including SWE-bench Verified and Terminal-Bench2.1, ahead of the similarly sized Qwen3.6-35B-A3B. The model is available on Hugging Face, GitHub and ModelScope.

How is heat calculated?About the board

When several outlets cover the same story it counts as one event. Heat counts how many independent sources discussed it in the last 48 hours, each source counted once, decaying with a 24-hour half-life — so one outlet publishing ten posts does not inflate the ranking. It measures how active the discussion is, not how good the reporting is.

The board is refreshed once a day over a rolling 48-hour window. The trend line samples once an hour: with fewer than three samples nothing is drawn, and gaps break the line instead of counting as zero.

The up/down arrow compares with six hours ago, with natural decay removed: a story only counts as rising when new independent sources joined in the last six hours. Simply getting older does not read as a fall, and the surge badges only appear when new outlets actually pick the story up.
